Freelance Dreamer & Founder of Grace of no Age
Melbourne, AUSTRALIA
I am curious and restless, with the soul of an entrepreneur. I am always searching for new horizons where I can land my dreams and I am confident that anyone who knows me would agree I have a “kindred spirit”.
Although I am in love with my little land, Catalonia, I am currently creating a new dynamic that will allow me to operate from any location in the world, as a digital nomad. Freedom and travelling the world have always been my main and only #keywords!
I started my journey as a Biologist right after I finished my degree in 1995, doing research for the Spanish National Research Council for a total of 7 years. I had a blast, however, I needed to move to the next box and so – I did.
My next adventure was when Tourism Marketing & Business Development found me. Yes! I never searched for it, it totally came my way on its own. After more than fifteen years of experience as a Consultant / Project Manager and University Teacher in the tourism and leisure industries, I again felt that it was time to do something different or, at least, to do it on my own.
Since I needed to think about what was next, I bought a flight (to yet another unknown destination) and I decided on a sabbatical year in lovely Ubud (Bali). Months there flew softly and easily and words cannot express the joy of sharing with a whole bunch of lovely souls that I now call my friends. Crazily enough, some of them are currently joining me on this new, beautiful adventure, from all different places in the world.
Just to give you an executive briefing (sorry, distortion of a Project Manager professional practice) – I decided the time had come to fly solo!
Flying solo as a Marketing and Branding Consultant / Business Development Manager allowed me to live in different locations, while working: Miami, Dubai, Bali and Melbourne are only some of the places where I have laid my hat in the last few years and called “home” for a while.
While doing that, I grew an intense affection for Pilates and I decided to become an instructor, which I did in 2017. Sharing my marketing projects with teaching Pilates here and there, was how I passed my professional days.
And then, in the summer of 2019, my heart asked me to return to Girona, to the little town where I grew up, and to spend some time here with old and new friends and, of course, family.
Many things have happened since I returned to a country (namely Spain) where to make a decent living, you basically need to be a superhero… not to mention that in early 2020, the whole world took a twist on a crazy road called Covid19-so-what-now.
It was during the confinement – being on my own here while my life-partner, Steve, was stuck in Australia for 7 months – that “Grace of No Age” was born in my mind. I understood a new phase of my life was about to start and that marketing would be, in no time, a thing of my past; just the same as being a biologist gave way to being in business, a few years before.
I was approaching a new time in my life where changes would be challenging and I was determined not to let that scare or slow me down. I had confronted many challenges in my life that this one would simply make one more. I told myself that “I got this” and I moved forward with getting the resources, the help and the support I needed to make Grace of No Age a project of all aging-women, not only me!
And here we are, ladies! So, if you’re ready to rock’n’roll, trust me, so am I and my lovely team of Goddesses!
