A major symptom of menopause is headache. Menopausal headaches are mainly due to hormonal changes but I believe over thinking can also be one of the causes.
Menopause is a time when many women feel lonely, forgetful and irritable due to mood swings. She may also be facing sleepless nights, hot flashes, night sweats etc.
These changes can, in turn, contribute to over thinking. So, to stop over thinking, one must follow a busy routine, and devote time to hobbies. Being busy does not mean simply working all the time, but having a happy, healthy routine with enough time for yourself. Aim to take some time out of every day for your happiness. Listen to soft instrumental music, play a musical instrument, paint or any hobby which gives you eternal peace.
Hobbies are the essence of life.
Hobbies act as medicine for the mind.
Following a nice routine trains your mind and gives it something to focus on. It will help to stop the bad habit of over thinking, leaving you feeling fresh and enthusiastic.
A lady I know took up painting and papercrafts in her forties, dedicating time to improving day by day. Exhibiting her artwork in a nearby art gallery, it was clear to see the enthusiasm and happiness on her face. She became an inspiration to all her friends of the same age who had been easily bored, irritated, overthinking and preoccupied with thoughts about lost beauty and physical health. Some of them were lonely as with kids having left home and husbands buried in their jobs.
If you do not pursue any hobby, now is the time to start learning. Cooking, acting, drawing, bird watching, reading, anything which you like to do. Just do it and enrich yourself with inner peace!
