“Links are the place where the soul fulfills its destiny.” – Thomas Moore
When we reach menopause, we arrive accompanied by years of experience, and accumulations of knowledge and wisdom. We might also arrive with broken relationships, expired bonds and resentments for past wrongs. It can be difficult to let go when hearts are full of emotions.
Sometimes, we reach the stage of menopause with hot flashes not only in the body, but also in the soul, due to unresolved conflicts with our parents, partners or ex-partners, our children, colleagues or friends.
The power of Ho’oponopono
So today I want to talk about a wonderful technique, which is more than a technique, it is an art. It is called Ho’oponopono.
It is an ancient Hawaiian system used by the ancient Kahuna to resolve conflicts and heal relationships between families and groups. Ho’oponpono says it is possible to rectify the errors caused by thoughts and memories of the past. These create emotions, realities, sufferings, deficiencies and even diseases, but through simple techniques, you can erase those memories.
Ho’oponopono starts from the principle that “We are all One.” From that perspective, what I erase in me, what heals in me, is erased in the other. The theory maintains that when we are in a situation of problem or conflict with another, it is because we share beliefs with that person or group and the way to solve it is by erasing those memories.
How can I use Ho’oponopono?
Repeat these words, which seem magical, and which due to their high frequency are capable of transforming memories into forgiveness, in peace, in emptiness.
I am sorry
Excuse me
I love you
Thank you
According to Dr Ihaleakalá Hew Len, a psychiatrist who has updated the system and expanded it throughout the world, peace begins with ourselves. By constantly practicing Ho’oponopono, we have the opportunity to cleanseand transmute those memories to free ourselves from the burden that conflict entails.
“When in an act of love, I heal in me, what of me is in you, it is from UNITY that I open myself to live that experience.” – Dr. Ihaleakalá Hew Len
This implies assuming 100% responsibility for our actions which means being fully responsible for our entanglements, fears and demons.
When we stop seeing ourselves as victims and recognize the power that exists in us, we become active agents in our lives and we stop looking for culprits.
When I see the problem is not me, nor is it the other, but rather the beliefs we share, I recognize that the possibility of changing, of erasing those memories, is in me. Thus, I heal myself and consequently heal the other.
All we have to do is clean.
New opportunities, new wings
Life, with menopause, gives us an opportunity to travel lightly by releasing loads that are no longer in force. We are free to connect in an increasingly conscious way with the present and to move towards ourselves with less luggage, and with more love and peace.
Menopause gives us an opportunity to put on new wings and fly a calmer, more serene flight.
Let us not let the days, weeks and months go by without assuming that we hold the master key to transform memories into love and pain into forgiveness.
