“Yes, everything is changing, my internal and external world is a whirlwind that sometimes overwhelms me. I try to take a breath and continue, but sometimes it is almost impossible.” Remedios, 51 years old.
The general perception of menopause in the western world
Many women who are in this stage of life describe their day to day just like Remedios. Unfortunately, this common type of reflection only adds to the chaos and confusion.
Society in general and the overvaluation given to youth and stereotypes of beauty make it even more difficult for us to give this process the true spiritual meaning that it deserves. They cloud our vision of the wonderful gift that this moment offers us. Menopause is a time to honor and be grateful for the past, and to be reborn from another place where we will have new and more subtle superpowers.
Here, at Grace of no Age the Goddesses offer inspiration to find a way towards the inevitable destiny of menopause. But none of them can serve us if we do not first change focus. To do this, the first thing I recommend is a thorough cleaning of all those toxic thoughts, which most likely are not even yours.
Step one: change your thoughts
It is important that we banish ideas from our minds that only hurt us and send us further into the whirlwind. I am sure that at least one of these ideas has haunted you on occasion: “I am finished as a woman”, “I am no longer important”, “the best days of my life are gone”, “who is going to love this old woman? ” and many others. These thoughts knock us down over and over again.
Mature woman: DISMISS these toxic thoughts, just as you decide to stop eating some type of food because it makes you feel ill, or avoid a hairstyle that you feel does not favor you.If they pop into your mind anyway, simply let them pass. They are not yours and they are full of a negative charge that darkens a stage in which what you most need is to go to the light.
Next step: accept
The natural rhythm of life leads us to maturity. With it comes many natural changes that are equally unavoidable. We have to lovingly accept that we have lived a first stage that has come to an end. With the same love, we must receive the next one with the certainty that it will offer us as many surprises and gifts as the first.
Let us observe this moment of transformation without judgment or burden, with attention and silence. Let us be able to appreciate in the chaos what those shadows hide. I assure you it is a glorious rebirth if you do it consciously.
Finally: rebirth
If you have followed the first two steps, you are at a time when you can, like the phoenix, be reborn from the ashes. You honored your history and compassionately embraced chaos. This latest move showed you new capabilities, which in many cases, you never thought were yours. Now is the time to use all your power to rebuild in this renewed reality. You will undoubtedly realize that you are freer, wiser, lighter, more cheerful, less complicated, and above all, a perfect woman made to your own measure by yourself.
The last suggestion I make to be successful in this endeavor is to do it with conviction. Fill yourself with courage for this battle in which the trophy will be you, a mature woman, full and in joy. Have discipline and perseverance to connect with your most powerful weapon: the compassionate and loving feminine force that has always lived in your delicious woman’s body. Start designing the rest of your life right now.
