So many women are conditioned to be perfect. We want perfect marks. We want a perfect record. We want the perfect grade, assessment and appraisal. We believe that being perfect and doing things perfectly is both desirable and possible.
What would happen, if we did not judge ourselves? If we accepted life as it flows, and trusted the process? Would we be more happy? More healthy? More alive?
When I was 35 or so, a friend introduced an idea to me. Recently she had noticed that her turning 40 meant that men stopped looking at her and that people in general no longer paid much attention to her. I thought this was a wild generalization and it wouldn’t or couldn’t happen to me.
Muchas de nosotras nos sentimos desubicadas. Nuestro “suelo” se ha desplazado y no podemos percibir el horizonte. Al menos, no podemos percibir el horizonte como lo conocíamos. Covid y sus consecuencias nos están afectando a todas muy profundamente.
