Spirit Mama
Wellington, NEW ZEALAND
Spirit because I put the spirit back into yoga. Yoga IS a spiritual practice. And mama because I’m a woman. I birth creative babies all the time! Sometimes they’re called projects. Sometimes they’re poems or plays, and sometimes it’s a creative navigation of my relationships, and so much more! And mama too because I’m a guide. Helping you to remember your true home, your North Star, your true origin. Walking you back home, as Ram Dass would say.
I’ve been teaching yoga in the Kundalini tradition for over 13 years. I chose the Kundalini tradition because in experiencing just one class I felt a deep connection to a *something* I knew I had been longing for. At the time, I did not have a vocabulary to describe that *something*. Now, I embody that *something*, I am that *something*, and guess what, that *something* is spirit. Or soul. We are soul first, in a human home called a body and a physiology. It’s fascinating!
So my teachings take you there. I hold a sanctuary for you. A soul sanctuary. So that you can follow your North Star and return home. It’s an awesome kind of *something*. And I’ll be your guide through the ups and downs of the journey, through the beauty and the challenges. Sharing my knowledge and the technology of Kundalini yoga with you.
Otherwise, I’m very rooted in my beautiful life in Aotearoa, New Zealand, surrounded by native bush and birdsong and entertained by the wild wind the city I live in is famous for. It’s personality is boisterous and makes me giggle, sometimes. Challenged with a sensitive body that took a beating when living in Cambodia for many years, now transitioning into my golden era, I draw on my inner resources of inner quiet, the nourishment of chanting, the high vibrations of the fruit and vegetables my body needs, and loving every bit of me. Yoga, and all of that, I want to share with you.
