When you feel stressed or bored, what do you generally do? The answer to this question may vary from person to person. Some will say they go to sleep while another will say I go for a walk etc. For my part, I would suggest you listen to beautiful and soothing music whenever you feel stressed due to menopausal pain. Music has the power of healing.
Many institutes, among them Harvard university, Indianyoga.org, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, have researched music as a therapy for menopause and they have scientifically proven that music helps in lowering the stress and anxiety which can occur during menopause.
Music and breathing
Listening to classical, or instrumental, music helps in relaxing both the mind and the body. The music played on Santoor, Sarangi, Bansuri, Sarod, and the violin bring our minds into a state of relaxation especially when paired with breathing techniques such as rhythmic breathing, deep breathing, or visualized breathing.
These techniques enhance the effect of listening to music in many ways. For example, music overall has a soothing and calm effect. It helps in relaxing your mind and keeping calm during anxiety. Music may improve your creativity and memory. When you concentrate on yourself, focus on your mind and breath with a proper technique to relax your body.
Train your mind by commanding it
I suggest one more technique: command your body to heal, command your mind to relax. I have found that this is the best technique to forget all worries, pain and stress. Remember, you are always your own best friend!
While listening to soft music, you can command your mind to relax. You can ask your mind to make your body relax and keep a pleasant thought cycle running in your subconscious. If you are religious or spiritual, pray or meditate daily. It will be easier for you to command your mind as one does while meditating or praying.
Generally, one must recite the following commands:
“I am absolutely happy, healthy and strong. All my needs are met. I will let go of all those things which I cannot control. I believe, and trust in a higher power (if you do!). All my pain will be taken away and all my happiness will come back to me now. There is nothing in the world I cannot handle … I am becoming stronger day by day.”
These are commands which may help anyone and you can develop a set of such commands according to your need.
The energy which is generated by listening to music can be channeled in such a powerful direction. Doing this exercise frequently, you can boost your energy level whenever you need to.
