Research suggests that some women would rather abstain from the painful experience and discomfort surrounding sexual intercourse. Every peri, menopause, and post-menopausal woman experiences sexual intercourse during these phases differently. This article is for you if you are a peri, menopause, and post-menopausal woman experiencing pain and discomfort during sexual intercourse.
Why Lubrication is Important
In my previous article, I discussed the use of lubrication as essential during intercourse as a peri, menopause, and post-menopausal woman. The type or flavor lubricant you choose to use is up to you and what you hope to achieve. Do your research and experiment with the different types and flavors. When you have found the right one for you, then you can incorporate your lube during sexual intercourse. Remember, lubrication is like seasoning to food. So not go overboard; add as needed.
Finding a Comfortable Position During Intercourse
During sexual intercourse, you may experience pain in different places. It would help to talk to your partner about any pain or discomfort. You can try adding pillows in the hollow of your back or under your buttocks to help you alleviate the pressure on your pelvic floor. Add and take away pillows until you feel comfortable. You can also lay on your stomach and add or take away pillows until you feel comfortable. Sideways is also a comfortable position for peri, menopause, and post-menopausal woman in alleviating discomfort during intercourse. The aim of this is for you to find a comfortable and enjoyable position. You may not achieve this in one session, but you will find the most comfortable and enjoyable position for you over time.
Experimenting and Going Outside of The Box
There is also a host of different items you can invest in for your sexual enjoyment, such as a sex swing, a sex chair, or a sex stool. These items will assist you on your journey to experience sexual intercourse as a peri, menopause, and post-menopausal woman deserving of such pleasure. Whichever item or position you choose to help you achieve satisfaction add your lubrication, include communication and humor. Keep experimenting to find what works for you, and most of all, enjoy yourself and your partner.
