“I think there is no better time in life to make the connection with oneself consciously than menopause. Perhaps because it coincides (nothing is a coincidence!) with the stage in which we care less and less about the outside. The outside that others impose on us, the outside that for years has set the standard for making decisions. The outside that perhaps has clipped our wings or made us change the direction of flight.”
None of this is good or bad. This is part of learning. It is not about judging ourselves, or blaming ourselves or others. It is about turning our gaze towards ourselves, towards our heart, seeing, feeling and knowing the exit is inwards.
Suddenly we begin realizing that all the answers and also the questions have always been in us and that empowers and enriches the soul, body and spirit.
It is in this stage that we increasingly do what we like, what attracts us, what we are passionate about. It is at this stage when we genuinely connect with our real needs and desires, with enjoyment. We listen to our body, caring less and less what others say or think.
It is this stage of life, in which we re-find ourselves, with the essence, with the wisdom that has always been there and possibly sometimes we have ignored, or we have only caressed for moments. Or that perhaps that we have passed by unnoticed.
Suddenly one day we stop. We realize some moments will not return, that everything is temporary and transitory, that there are things that we may no longer do or live and this sometimes hurts … but others will come, other opportunities will arise, other events, other clothes to wear, other pleasures to share.
Menopause is a time to accept our body will not be eternal. That it will age, that we will undergo physical and emotional changes, that unquestionably a part of us will die and will not return.
That is why it is also a stage of mourning. We must let die with dignity and, especially, with love who we were, the one that is already leaving or the one that has already left. To make way for our new one, embracing the essence that has become the new protagonist.
Let us dance with the sky, let ourselves be accompanied by the cosmic energies that are at this moment in favor of transformation and rebirth.
We are part of nature. Connecting with its rhythms will allow us to understand our own rhythm. Connecting with it is connecting with ourselves. Walking barefoot on the grass, the sand, admiring the beauty of the trees, the birds, the immensity of the sea, the imposing mountains, observing the sky, the moon and the stars; everything in nature tells us about cycles, rhythms, movement, about ourselves. Because we are part of it. When we know we are included, there comes an understanding that goes beyond the mind and that is what allows us to connect with ourselves.
I invite you to give yourself moments of peace and calm. Moments in which you can consciously feel the serenity that menopause brings, moments that will not return, but when you live them fully, they will nourish the Being.
Now, in these so-called “golden years”, we fill ourselves with brilliance. But now it is an internal shine. It is a shine that radiates, that is felt, that is perceived. It depends on each one to turn it on and see it, and with it to illuminate the path that we still have to go.
Thanks to GRACE OF NO AGE for this space. Here we can share, shine, gather and accompany other women to discover their brilliance and connection with themselves.
