Menopause changes our body and mind in many ways. It can impact our mental and emotional strength by eroding confidence, and causing mood swings, fatigue, depression, anxiety, anger, and other emotions we have to deal with every day.
Many women deal with joint pain and body ache during this sensitive period of their life. They feel like they are unwell for most of the day. These are the extreme cases and women having an extreme problem during menopause must visit their doctor for appropriate medical help.
Women who are facing normal menopausal symptoms in their body and mind can deal with it by changing their lifestyle. A normal happy routine, daily exercise, good healthy food, lots of love and care and pampering can help.
Trying a new hobby can add essence to your life
Pursuing a new hobby like music, painting, or gardening can help women deal with menopause by feeling more connected to themselves.
I have seen many women who reach their 40s and start regretting many of their life choices. They say: “I wanted to pursue xyz hobby, etc but my life circumstances didn’t allow me to!” As we know, flexibility and adaptation are two important skills which women often excel in but which mean they sacrifice their own lives.
However, menopause can act as a speed break in your life and allow you to think about yourself again. It can be a time for fulfilling your wishes and achieving your dreams! So, why not find a new hobby which you wanted to learn in the past and never had an opportunity to.
Changing your routine and interests can also can add flavor to your day-to-day. For example, if you have been cycling for many years, maybe now you can try painting by yourself at home, or joining an art class.
Form a group and have fun
Sometimes keeping yourself engaged in pursuing a new hobby can make you feel lonely too. So, what about getting a group of friends together to join you in your new activity?
For example, if your hobby is gardening, ask your partner or a friend to get gardening together. You can arrange a small tea time get-together and enjoy some tea or coffee with some biscuits after your work is done. Or go for a walk with your friends or arrange a small makeup party for them.
These types of little joyful moments can actually allow you to CREATE your JOY and SHARE it with others.
Creating and sharing can be super fun and will help you keep your mind healthy and happy.
