In all stages of life, self-esteem plays a very important role.
Beyond “technicalities”, we can say that self-esteem is trusting and believing in myself, and in my potential. I respect myself, and feel and find myself worthy and worthy of happiness.
Self-esteem comes through knowing myself thoroughly, understanding every corner of what I essentially am. I accept and love all of me: my fragilities and my strengths. I know my abilities and needs. I discover what beliefs I have about myself.
I see myself as being able to embrace my goals, objectives and meaning. From moment to moment, and at every opportunity, I am building my life purpose.
As the years pass
As the years go by (here’s good news!), the possibility of being closer to myself can grow, if I choose it.
“It is never too late when happiness is good” goes a popular saying. Age, maturity and gray hair all serve to continue the path, showing us our triumphs and goals. Ask yourself: How did I get here?
You are here despite the battles, despite the difficult moments and, above all, thanks to your achievements and the values you have acted on, to your tenacity and skills. Do you realize your catalogue of possibilities, tools and strengths? Do you recognize that being you has allowed you to be here? There is something wise and courageous that has allowed you to reach the day, the moment and the space in which you are now.
Why not turn our new changes into a scaffolding of self-worth, of knowing that I have myself, that I can trust myself. Now, we are a little older, with more life experience and the wisdom that the path we travel gives us. We can reconnect with ourselves, reassess ourselves, and begin to feel more and more competent at life.
Love yourself
Loving and accepting ourselves, counting on ourselves and listening to the wise inner voice that accompanies us just as the passing of the years grows and strengthens us. Because the years not only add gray hair but also wisdom, that which is not bought or acquired but comes with life itself.
Let’s make the path we have walked a meaningful space to start over, to rebuild ourselves.
I invite you to trust your abilities, to believe in yourself and value yourself. We are unique and unrepeatable beings, always under construction.
It’s never too late to start. WE ARE POSSIBILITY.
